Last year was our first year spending Christmas Eve all together as a family in our own place (Brock, Malachi, and me). So, we went to Christmas Eve service then came home and decided to set up the Joy Box (the photo booth that we offer our clients as an add-on to their wedding coverage) in our living room. We had so much fun, we decided it would be our new family tradition. You can check out those photos from Christmas Eve 2011 HERE 🙂

This year, my sister and brother-in-law, Macey + Chad, came in town Sunday and stayed for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, so they got to be a part of our little family tradition, too! Again, SO MUCH FUN.

Macey and me with her dog, Emma.

She was pretending in the above photograph. Then Malachi was like, “No, really drum, Maymay!”

That Grinch Build-a-Bear is from a trip we took up to North Point Mall earlier in December. And no, Malachi didn’t pick it out of stuff it. I did.

Malachi ran into the kitchen and grabbed the cookie dough (he was looking for grapes, but we didn’t have any) so that Brock could serve him because he was the king.

So, Dad…here’s my proposition…

This is right after Malachi accidentally smacked Brock in the face.

The Force Choke:

Finishing him off, Vader-style:

Vader and Luke:

Macey: “Put your hands in your pockets.”

Malachi: “I don’t have pockets!”

“I’m General Grievous!”

River is none too amused.

We only had two “Santa” style hats, so Macey got creative…

If you haven’t noticed, this is my go-to photo booth face:

Macey + I (and usually my mom and baby sister) have always gotten (well, for the last 10 years or so) matching pajamas to wear Christmas Eve. I remember one year we got pink and white striped pajamas (all four of us plus my cousin, Britnee) with cupcakes all over them. We seriously looked like the Bananas in Pajamas.

Pajama Ninjas. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Pajama Zen.

5th cup of the day, Chad?

The idea was too blow the snowflakes towards the camera. That didn’t go too well…
