0Malachi has starting playing this game lately where he asks “Would you rather” and then follows it with two options–usually both options are equally disgusting, such as “eat a spider or drink toilet water.” Today, he gave me one that 1) actually wasn’t gross and 2) was applicable to the current weather situation: “Would you rather be really hot or really cold?” I didn’t even have to think twice about my answer: really hot. Because, seriously, it has been too darn cold since this latest cold front came in. Honestly, I think it should only be this cold a few weeks out of the year, and those weeks should be the weeks leading up to Christmas. Just my personal opinion. Part of that is the fact that I have to put on so many layers of clothing to be comfortable and I feel like I end up looking a bit like the Michelin man. So, I have been curling up inside wearing sweatpants and Mukluks whenever possible the past couple of days and dreaming of warm weather. Which reminded me that I never blogged most of my personal summer stuff on film. In July, Brock, Malachi and I took a little mini family vacation to my grandparents’ condo in Orange Beach. I can tell you, those 3 full days of beach, pool, and lack of Lightroom and Photoshop access were fabulous. I may or may not have taken a nap in the big red recliner in the living room every single day. After watching multiple episodes of House Hunters in a row.
So here’s to sundresses and flipflops and not looking like the Michelin man everytime I step outside my front door. Summer, come back soon, please.

Both Malachi and Brock were intent on building a fabulous sand castle. That lasted about 10 minutes, then they wanted to go swimming.

Throwing sand.

That’s my husband.

FAVORITE!
