Yesterday was my sister’s birthday. I am so incredibly proud of how professional and mature she is, not to mention absolutely beautiful. Her birthday is the day after Valentine’s, so sometimes it gets overshadowed with hearts and mushy statuses and overcrowded restaurants. But she deserves a full celebration of her birth 🙂
Macey and me, circa early 1990’s.
When we were growing up, the 4 years-ish age difference was just the right amount to inspire fighting, and lots of it…
Now, though, we get along so well (don’t worry, we still fight sometimes ;D), but now we actually live 3 hours a part 🙁
So, this is me wishing her a happy birthday from a state away (Mace–don’t get mad at me for some of these throwbacks).
In April of 2006 at Orange Beach:
June, 2007–I hosted a Graduation Tea for Macey and one of our best friend’s Kacy (the AC’s):
Macey and me with her first car:
She was my first model (this is before I started my career as a photographer), September 2008:
A sister trip to New Orleans (our hometown) in December of 2008:
Heading to the Tacky Christmas Party for our college group at church in December of 2008 (yes, that’s my husband, Brock, in the second photo, pre-dating)
Macey has always been able to fall asleep anywhere. Especially during movies. Always about 15 minutes in.
Modeling wedding dresses on the runway at the Bridal Gala in Montgomery, January or February 2009 (isn’t she gorgeous?!):
Modeling for me again, February 2009:
At the surprise birthday party I put together for her in February 2009:
A stormy beach trip, just the 3 of us, in August of 2009:
She was my first second shooter (this is us with Jennifer at Jennifer + Ethan’s wedding in early 2009)
Macey introduced me to the first bride that ever booked me, Anna (March 2009, at Anna’s bridal shower):
Some of my favorite photos of Macey, ever. These were taken during the Bachelorette trip that she put together for me in November of 2010:
She caught the bouquet at my wedding and the next day, Chad proposed to her (this is me pointing to Chad knowingly, December 2010):
Macey and her then-fiance, Chad–Christmas morning, 2010:
I was honored to shoot she + Chad’s engagement session (February 2011):
Rock climbing for her bachelorette party here in Atlanta (March 2011):
At Paces 88 for her Bachelorette:
I also got to shoot her bridal session. How lucky am I?!
On her wedding day, May 2011 (published on A Paper Proposal):
In November 2011, I got to capture Macey’s new family, the Franklins:
Thanksgiving, 2011 with our little sister, Tabi–what did I tell you about sisters fighting? 😉
At Malachi’s 7th birthday party in Montgomery, April 2012:
I was so, so, SOOOO psyched that she + Chad spent the couple of days before Christmas with us here in Atlanta. It was one of my most memorable Christmases.
Christmas morning, 2012:
We are adults now, with families of our own, and we live in different states, but you are my sister, which is more than friend or even best friend–you have known me the longest and put up with me the longest, which means everyone should take their hats off to you. You are more than just a distant aunt to Malachi. You are an inspiration to me (even though you are my little sister) in being a great wife, being involved with a church family, and being a go-getter in all that you do. I love you and miss you, “lil” sis.
PS. I am coming to stay in your fancy new house soon. Just by the way.
