Memorial Day has been an awesome break for us so far. We started off the day with coffee on the deck, then downloaded, backed up and culled images from last night’s wedding, grabbed lunch at Atlanta Bread together, and now we are blogging and packing up for Baltimore. We leave tomorrow for what will prove to be, I am sure, a pretty friggin’ awesome engagement shoot.
If you are friends with either of us on Facebook, you will see that Brock and I have had a crazy past few weeks. Last Monday, we were actually returning home from a 5 day trip to California to capture a wedding (and rehearsal and Day After shoot) at Disneyland!
I thought I would recap our trip in iPhone photos (some we instagrammed, some we snapped but were too busy to upload to social media :D) for ya for today’s post.
Thursday, May 16
We had a layover in Dallas/Fort Worth. It was a fairly short one, so we basically jogged to our new terminal, but we just had to stop for a few pics with the awesome sculture.
Also, Brock and Malachi got me two Kelly Moore bags for Mother’s Day this year, and I just have to brag on my Chapel bag–it was SO awesome for traveling. It can be worn as a backpack, which is great when carrying as a carryon when flying, or as a crossbody (my favorite style), which I utilized when I wasn’t officially shooting, but I wanted to have the option to grab out my camera.
Friday, May 17
We absolutely love finding unique eateries whenever we travel. I am a definite foodie, so we are always searching for something with a fun atmosphere and that’s a bit out of the norm and something we can’t get at home (you will only find us at typical chain restaurants while traveling if there is nothing else available). We were driving through downtown Anaheim and drove past the most adorable corner cafe named The Gypsy Den. We had breakfast there Friday morning. We may also have gone back at least 2 more times for more doses of the Vanilla Chai Latte with almond milk. I never would have tried it if it weren’t for our barista, whom I told to surprise me 🙂
The rehearsal and dinner was early afternoon Friday.
Then, after the rehersal dinner, we grabbed Stefanie + Wagner for a quick photo shoot (since we didn’t get to shoot with them prior to this weekend).
Saturday, May 18
I stole these three from one of Stefanie’s rad bridesmaids, Amanda:
Sunday, May 19
We had to meet up at 5:45am for Stef + Wagner’s Day After shoot IN THE PARK Sunday morning. I mean, in Disneyland with no one else present aside from employees. It was surreal and oh-so-amazing.
Then, Stefanie + Wagner changed clothes, the four of us grabbed breakfast at Earl of Sandwhich in Downtown Disney, then we all went back to our respective hotel rooms for a long nap before we hit up the park 🙂
We love traveling, but are also so happy to be home after several days away.
Next up, Baltimore–woop, woop! 🙂
